There are two types of encapsulation that I offer.
Basic heated. This is a traditional Chinese Medicine inspired method and is meant to warm the mother's body and balance her qi. This method steams the placenta to instill that warmth into the placenta. If you are working with a TCM practitioner who has herbs recommended for you, we can discuss ways to incorporate those. Otherwise, I will steam the placenta with just water so as not to introduce outside influence. I will not recommend any herbs or seasonings to add to the placenta as I am not a trained herbalist.
The Raw Method, is just that. The placenta is not steamed or altered in any way. It is dehydrated at a low temperature to maintain the purest form possible. The raw method is reported by mothers to be a bit stronger. It is not recommended for women with a history of anxiety or depression.
With both methods, the placenta is completely dehydrated and then ground up and placed in capsules. I will return your completed capsules to you within 48-72 hours after I receive your placenta, but I will do my best to have it back to you within 24 hours when possible.

I adhere to all OSHA guidelines when processing your placenta. All equipment and surfaces are properly sanitized both before and after the encapsulation. I also maintain a current Blood Borne Pathogens certification and California Food Handlers permit. Copies can be provided upon request. My training and certification for encapsulation was done through IPPA (International Placenta & Postpartum Association).
